The plot of land was purchased in auction by a client in 2004 but sat derelict for over 14 years until the client decided to pursue their retirement home.
Full planning permission was granted in 2020 over the period of two years of negotiations, design changes and consultations with the parish councils to satisfy the Local Planning Authority.
The main challenge was creating something that the end-user would be happy with and could justify the cost of construction and fulfil their requirements.
The design incorporates a French style chalet bungalow to keep the roof below a certain height yet allowing enough space in the roof to incorporate two double bedrooms.
The house required new service connections (electric, gas, sewage and telecoms) as the site was bought as a vacant land.
